What Is SCVAN?

The South Carolina Victim Assistance Network is an organization that provides support and resources for victims of crime in South Carolina. They offer services including crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and assistance with navigating the criminal justice system. They also provide education and training to professionals who work with victims of crime and work closely with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and other organizations to ensure that victims receive the support they need.

SCVAN fulfills three main objectives:

1. To ensure all crime victims receive access to and assistance from the criminal justice system.

2. To improve the quality of services provided to crime victims by victim advocates.

3. To ensure the criminal justice system adequately serves crime victims.

SCVAN is committed to advocating for the rights of victims and ensuring that they receive fair and just treatment throughout the criminal justice process.
